This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving team as a Commercial Sales Manager based at the iconic Jam Factory in South Yarra.
What does the role entail?
We are looking for someone to take responsibility for meeting and exceeding sales objectives through commercialisation of Village Entertainment assets and generating revenue through offering bespoke integrated solutions to brands and agencies looking to connect with an entertainment audience.
You will be expected to use your finely-honed Business Development skills to generate awareness and demand for Village Entertainment assets and properties as viable media, sponsorship and marketing communications channels for brands and agencies. Identifying, developing and then maximising revenue generating commercial opportunities will be second nature to you.
With the ability to clearly articulate the strength of brands you have previously worked with combined with your proficiency to implement tactical plans, you will be a leader when it comes to developing mutually beneficial relationships. In fact, your well-tuned negotiation and problem-solving skills you’ve applied in building your agency and direct brand relationships will be utilised when you manage your pipeline of ongoing prospects.
In addition to bringing with you an established set of contacts across the country, there is also the expectation that you will also foster new relationships. Your Account Management expertise will help you ensure that client partnerships and campaigns are executed to exceed expectations and you will work closely with the Partnerships Executive and internal departments to achieve the desired partner outcomes. Your focus on providing excellent service and satisfaction and your ability to pick up relationships from scratch will stand you in good stead.
Your innovative mindset will enable you to continually create and develop new products and assets to take to market. In doing so, you will need the ability to get internal teams and various stakeholders on board.
Working collaboratively with 3rd parties, joint venture partners and the wider Village Roadshow Group, you will be expected to maximise all revenue opportunities for Village Entertainment.
What do we need from you?
Village Roadshow is a diverse and vibrant organisation with a broad range of influential and dedicated professionals. To be successful in this role you will need to be open and honest in your approach, have the ability to build and maintain relationships with ease and not be too dismayed when things don’t go to plan. This role has a realistic and achievable commission structure for the successful applicant.
We are looking for 5+ years of sales and business development experience, preferably in media sales, promotions, sponsorship or partnerships. During this time you will have built up some solid relationships and we need you to be able to demonstrate your pipeline of key contacts from these client direct and media / sponsorship agencies.
The ability for you to demonstrate your proven track record in commercial negotiation is a must and we want to hear those exciting stories where you have made sales and exceeded targets.
Being across market / industry trends within partnerships, digital communications, CRM and commerce channels is essential. We also need you to be digitally savvy, strategic and keen to tackle problems head on.
The underpinning skills required to be successful in this role revolve around how you approach people and develop long and fruitful relationships. You will have the most impact out in the field, meeting clients and potential partners and we don’t want you to be stuck behind a desk!
Tertiary qualifications within Business, Marketing, Commerce or equivalent experience in business development / sales is a must.
