About the role:
Develop and maintain all Educational programs to align with the National Curriculum and company standards. This role is very hands on and includes being a frontline team member in all aspects of guest interactions, facilitating animal adventure programs, managing park-wide Keeper Talks, managing content as it relates to Marine Sciences through in-park signage and social media, and Community Engagement programs.
Duties:
- Coordinate the development, implementation and facilitation of educational programs for all visiting students and provide other park guests with an educational learning experience while interacting with the animals
- Supervise the Education team to provide clear lines of communication regarding the requirements of the team and the overall message being delivered to the public regarding the marine environment
- Rostering and workforce planning management
- Staff recruitment, staff training and performance management
- Perform educational/host roles in Animal Adventure programs, park-wide keeper talks, community engagement opportunities and content management, to provide an entertaining and learning experience for park guests
- Develop new and coordinate existing calendar events within and outside of Sea World and the Sea World Research and Rescue Foundation
- Update and implement park signage and audios to promote Marine Conservation and Sea World’s animal stories
- Seek out new opportunities to promote Marine Conservation and Education for Sea World
Skills and Experience:
- Strong leadership skills and public speaking experience is essential
- A degree in Education would be preferable
- Recreational ship masters license preferable
- A strong knowledge of the marine environment and conservation issues within the marine environment is preferred
