The opportunity:
Australian Outback Spectacular’s Heartland is seeing a versatile male performer able to play the age range 40-50yrs.The Lead Performer “Reg” and ‘’Bazza’’ at Australian Outback Spectaculars Heartland is responsible for carrying the show from beginning to end with dialogue and singing as per script.
Character Synopsis:
REG
Reg sits at the centre of Heartlands story, the land written into his face and soul, running their cattle station that has been in his family for four generations. Reg establishes a strong emotional rapport with the audience and manages a sense of truthfulness and quiet emotion throughout. However, the current drought is particularly severe and their economic situation perilous. Reg has a huge heart, a dry sense of humour and an innate sense of optimism. The depth of this will become tested during the show. In contrast, his wife Marge is the practical backbone of the farm.
BAZZA
Bazza is the quintessential local Publican who joins Reg and the team as the resident ‘Muster’ Cook. Bazza has a taste for Outback humour, prides himself on his extravagant (vile) rissoles and surprisingly, a skill of singing Italian Opera! He Has built an epic barbecue, laden with all the bells and whistles, including a fully rotating hills hoist delivery system! Bazza portrays a
comedic role – and we are looking for a good character actor, ideally with
an aptitude for physical comedy
Your day to day:
• Maintain consistency and continuity in every show
• Ensure all show equipment and devices are maintained and used to the highest safety levels
• Work with and treat all animals with care and respect
• Maintain your appearance as set by the show design, makeup and costume personnel
• Participate in publicity and promotions activities
• Maintain a high standard of voice and singing technique
What you’ll bring:
• Demonstrated professional experience in the Entertainment industry
• Exceptional vocal technique in both speaking and singing
• Ability to play the part of a male in his late 40’s
• Prior experience in a lead role or supporting role an advantage
• Demonstrated strong improvisation and performance skills
• Ability and willingness to play multiple roles
• Must be available to work on any day 3:45pm-10:00pm
