The Opportunity:
The Stockperson role delivers a very high standard of horse riding and follows directed choreography while maintaining a character. During times the show is not operational they carry out duties as reasonably directed by Show Production Management.

Your day to day:
• To rehearse and learn any roles or characters allocated. To follow direction given from the Show Director and VRTP management team.
• Ensure all animals are treated with care and respect. Encourage all animals to perform to their highest ability.
• Training and education young inexperienced horses into a live show environment
• Mentally and physically stimulating animals for animal welfare proposes
• Addressing unwanted animals behaviours though consolation with the Equine Manager .
• Maintain all animals, backstage areas and stables and animals to the highest standards. Including, washing, brushing, cleaning, raking and ensuring feed, water are provided.
• Ensure all show equipment, costumes, saddlery, are maintained and conduct generated safety checks.
• Responsible for maintaining your fitness levels and physical attributes required to fulfil the role.

What you’ll bring:
• Prior strong horse riding experience in a competitive field or station environment is essential.
• Previous training in animal conditioning and behaviour is essential.
• Demonstrated harness, trick riding and whip cracking skills is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in working with other livestock (e.g. cattle, sheep, work dogs) is essential.
• To be able to play the age range specific to the role.
• Previous acting in a live theatrical environment is essential.
• Previous experience in a lead role to deliver script is essential.
• Strong vocal ability to meet the requirements of the character.
