The Opportunity
As a Stockperson, you’ll be part of an incredible live performance experience, delivering show stopping energy, mastering choreographed routines, and working in perfect partnership with our animals to create unforgettable moments for every audience. From backstage prep to centre stage action, you’ll play a vital role in bringing the magic to life, show after show.
Key Responsibilities
Saddle up and step into the spotlight! You’ll:
• Rehearse and perform assigned roles and characters, working closely with the Show Director and VRTP management team to deliver world-class performances
• Care for and work respectfully with animals, encouraging them to perform confidently and comfortably at their best
• Follow guidance from the Equine Manager on animal behaviour, training and performance standards
• Maintain animal, stable and backstage areas to the highest standards, ensuring a clean, safe and professional environment for both animals and team members
• Prepare, maintain and safely use all show equipment, costumes and saddlery, completing all pre and post show safety checks
• Maintain the physical fitness and stamina required to perform in a dynamic, physically demanding live show environment
What We’re Looking For
If you’re passionate about animals, performance and teamwork, you’ll thrive in this role. You’ll bring:
• Exceptional riding skills and strong horsemanship
• Experience working with livestock such as cattle, sheep or working dogs (highly regarded)
• Willingness to attend physical assessments and maintain the fitness levels required for the role
• Previous experience performing in a live theatrical or show environment (desirable)
• Availability to work afternoons and evenings across a rotating roster
