The Opportunity

Paradise Country is on the lookout for a dedicated Wildlife Keeper to join our passionate team! Whether you’re handling koalas, kangaroos, or exotic species, if you’ve got heart, hustle, and a genuine love for wildlife, we want you to help us care for, educate, and inspire guests about our amazing animals.
Key Responsibilities
Bring your habitat hero duties! You’ll be:
• Undertaking animal husbandry and exhibit maintenance tasks to maintain excellent health of all animals as well as ensuring the exhibit presentation standards are maintained at all times
• Handling wildlife for guest interactives
• Facilitating relevant education talks, school programs and interactive tours to provide an educational & conservational experience to guests and students
• Maintaining excellent hygiene practices at all times in diet preparation, presentation, and storage
• Participating in rotation and auditing of stock
• Ensuring equipment is checked & maintained daily and ensure procedures are followed should equipment be faulty or require replacement
• Being responsible for punctuality to all animal presentations, tours, programs and guest experiences
What We’re Looking For
Ready to spread your wings into the wildlife world? You’ll bring:
• Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care or equivalent – Essential
• A Blue Card may be required as part of the background check process. This will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
• Animal handling experience – Desired
• Understanding of positive reinforcement training
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guest service experience
• A background in teaching/education roles within zoos an advantage
• Public speaking experience
• Sound knowledge of current wildlife and environmental challenges to conservation
• Manual Driver’s license an advantage
