The opportunity:
As an Aquarist you will provide animal husbandry for a range of elasmobranchs, teleosts and invertebrates including sharks, rays, fish, turtles, sea jellies and corals. As an Aquarist you will be required to dive for the purpose of feeding, enrichment, and cleaning tasks, as well as conduct water quality testing

Your day to day:
•   Carry out daily husbandry and maintenance tasks for the Sea World fish and invertebrate exhibits to maintain the animals in the best health possible
•   Conduct diving in the aquariums for the purpose of feeding, enrichment, and cleaning tasks
•   Daily care of elasmobranchs, teleosts and invertebrates.
•   Water quality testing
•   Participate in collections, transports and rescues for all fish and invertebrates
•   Complete daily records for all exhibits under your care to ensure that accurate and complete histories are maintained for all animals

What you’ll bring:
•   Bachelor of Sciences in a relevant field (e.g. Marine Biology) required
•   Currently hold a minimum of ADAS Aquarium diver certification or willing to obtain at own cost
•   Recreational boat licence required or willing to obtain at own cost
•   Valid Dive Medical essential
•   Provide First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation essential
•   Knowledge of aquarium systems, filtration and water testing
•   Knowledge of marine species including sharks, rays, fish, turtles, jellyfish and corals
•   Ability to work unsupervised
•   Previous experience working in a public aquarium would be valuable
