Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, you’ll provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters, with a strong focus on contract preparation, review, negotiation and process improvement. If you’re a pragmatic lawyer who loves partnering with the business, balancing risk with real-world outcomes, and helping a fast-paced team make confident decisions (without a timesheet in sight), this one’s for you.

 

No two days are the same when your office is part of a theme park. One day it’s a sponsorship deal, the next it’s a trade mark question about a new ride. You’ll be:

• Preparing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.

• Providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the business.

• Supporting broader legal matters as required, including intellectual property, trade marks, personal injury claims and commercial litigation.

• Administering and improving VRTP’s contract review process, including tracking progress, preparing documents for execution and maintaining accurate records.

• Identifying, assessing and escalating legal risk while building trusted relationships across the business and with external advisors.

 

You’ll be a commercially minded legal professional who knows how to make the complex feel clear (a genuine superpower). You’ll bring:

• Admission as a solicitor with a current Queensland Law Society Practising Certificate and at least five years’ post-admission experience.

• Strong contract drafting, review, analysis and negotiation skills across commercial arrangements.

• Experience in process improvement, policy implementation, governance and maintaining accurate records.

• Strong administration and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with ERP or contract management system experience highly desirable.

• Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills and a pragmatic, collaborative approach to balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes.
