The Opportunity
We're looking for an Associate Data Engineer to help develop and support our centralised data platform, bringing together information from multiple operational systems to create reliable, accessible and meaningful data assets.

Working closely with business, technology and Commercial Insights teams, you'll support the integration, transformation and delivery of data that enables operational reporting, analytics and near real-time business insights. You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of our Microsoft Fabric environment and help deliver practical data solutions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Turning data into reliable business insights, you’ll be:
• Supporting the development and administration of the Microsoft Fabric data platform, including Lakehouse, Warehouse and data pipeline environments.
• Building and maintaining data pipelines that ingest, transform and integrate data from multiple operational systems, supporting both scheduled and near real-time data requirements.
• Developing curated datasets, staging tables and reporting views that enable operational reporting, analytics and self-service insights.
• Working with business, technology and Commercial Insights teams to understand business processes, data requirements and source systems, contributing to practical data solutions.
• Assisting with data validation, monitoring and reconciliation activities to ensure data assets are accurate, complete, timely and fit for business use.
• Maintaining documentation for data sources, pipelines, transformations, data models and operating procedures to support knowledge sharing and ongoing platform support.
• Identifying opportunities to improve data pipelines, platform performance, automation and development practices.
• Collaborating with technology, analytics, business and project teams to deliver data solutions and contribute to broader data and technology initiatives.

What We’re Looking For
You enjoy working with data, solving problems and helping turn information into meaningful business outcomes. You’ll bring:
• Experience using SQL and Python for data engineering, analytics, reporting or data processing activities.
• An understanding of data engineering concepts, including data integration, transformation, modelling, data quality and pipeline development.
• Experience working with data from multiple systems within a large or complex business environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Qlik or Tableau.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve data quality, integration and pipeline issues.
• The ability to understand business requirements, analyse data from unfamiliar systems and translate needs into practical data solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear technical documentation while managing multiple priorities.
• A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working.
Highly Regarded
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data, integration, storage or automation services.
• Exposure to Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate or Dataverse.
• Experience working with APIs, JSON, REST integrations or other common system integration patterns.
• Familiarity with Git, source control and modern development practices.
• Exposure to cloud data architectures, near real-time data pipelines, data governance or enterprise data management practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to support solution delivery.
